For
remotely access your host PC
• In your Web browser
> type www.gotomypc.com.
• Enter your email address and account
password and press Log In.
• A window appear > choose the
account you want to access and press Go.
• To the right Nickname of the computer
> press the connect button.
• If a window appear > press run
to download the GoToMyPC Viewer. PocketView
users will need to click the download link
to begin download.
• When window appear > enter the
access code for the host PC and press ok.
• The host PC image will appear in
the viewer window.
• You are now connected to your host
PC and ready to start accessing all your
files, applications and email as if you
were sitting at your PC.
How you remotely
access another PC
VNC
VNC allows you to remote control another computer
over the Internet. It is very easy to use
and best of all, it's FREE. The only prerequisite
is that both computers need to have an active
connection to the Internet.
There are two components
to VNC: the server and the client
Download VNC &
Install it
• Download VNC and unzip the file to
a directory of your choice.
• You will find two folders: vncviewer
and winvnc.
• Open the winvnc folder and double-click
on setup.exe.
• This will install the VNC server on
your computer.
Now start the Server
To start VNC on your server:
• Click on Start button
> Programs > VNC > Administrative
Tools > Install WinVNC Service.
• The server program will run and
a pop-up box will prompt you for some setting.
• You will need to enter a password.
Make it something that only you will know.
You certainly don't want unwanted hackers
gaining access to your computer.
• Click on OK. VNC
will be running in the background.
Find your IP Address for Windows
• Press on Start button
and then choose Run.
• Type cmd, when a box appears in
front of you.
• Type ipconfig when a DOS box will
appear.
• Write down the number next to IP
Address
• More than one IP address may appear.
• Your computer is now ready to be
controlled.
Remote controlling your computer
These steps must be done on your
client compute:
1. Download the VNC program
again.
2. Unzip the file into
a folder of your choice. We will now need
the folder called vncviewer.
3. Open it up and you will
find a program called vncviewer.exe >
double-click on this program to start it.
In the connection details box > type
in your IP Address.
4. Click OK >
a password box will soon appear.
